1980 - 1996 Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C., a large Pittsburgh law
firm. Hired as a newly graduated associate attorney in 1980, promoted to
partner/director in 1986, a year earlier than the usual pattern. Work
emphasized defense litigation in medical negligence matters, corporate
law, and general
accident and injury cases.
Education:
1980 J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Order of the
Barristers and Co-Winner of the Moot Trial and Appellate Court
Competitions, Director of the Legal Assistance Office which provided pro
bono services.
1977 Graduate studies in history at the University of Nevada at Reno,
including intensive primary document research at the National Archives
in Washington, D.C., regarding the exercise of the Presidential power of
the pardon.
1976 B.A. from Rutgers College of Rutgers University, New Jersey with a
major in History.
